1. Incoming Raw Material Inspection

Process: A spectrometer is used to analyze the chemical composition of the metal, ensuring it conforms to the specified grade.

2.In-Process Inspection

Process: This includes checking wax patterns for dimensions, monitoring the ceramic shell building process, and controlling the melting and pouring temperatures.

3. Final Inspection
After castings are cleaned and heat-treated, they undergo a rigorous final inspection, which includes:

Dimensional Inspection: Using tools like Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), calipers, and gauges to verify that all critical dimensions are within the drawing tolerances.

Visual Inspection: Inspectors meticulously examine the casting surface for defects like cracks, porosity, or inclusions. Magnifying glasses or microscopes are often used.

Mechanical Properties Testing: Separate test bars cast from the same heat are pulled or impacted to confirm the material's tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation meet requirements.

Non-Destructive Testing - NDT: Critical for safety components. Common methods include:

Liquid Penetrant Testing - LPT: Detects surface defects.

Magnetic Particle Testing - MT: Used for ferromagnetic materials like carbon steel to find surface and near-surface flaws.

Metallographic Inspection: A sample may be sectioned and examined under a microscope to verify its internal microstructure (e.g., grain size) is correct.
