Carbon Steel Investment Casting Process - Simple Description
Pattern Making: Create wax patterns using a metal mold.
Shell Building: Dip wax patterns in ceramic slurry and sand, then dry. Repeat to build a thick shell.
Dewaxing: Melt or steam out the wax, leaving a hollow ceramic mold.
Mold Firing: Heat the ceramic mold to high temperature to strengthen it.
Melting & Pouring: Melt carbon steel and pour it into the hot mold.
Cooling & Knockout: Let the metal solidify, then break away the ceramic shell.
Finishing: Cut off parts from the tree, grind, and apply heat treatment if needed.
Inspection: Check dimensions and quality before shipment.
